Faux Jumpsuit

When the romper/ jumpsuit became popular many years ago, I was so disappointed that the look ended up leaving me looking as if I was twelve instead of like a fashion it girl {seriously, every piece}. While it’s still popular today {and so cute on so many women}, it wasn’t until last week that I managed to combine two of my favorite basics – a silk camisole and cigarette pants – to create a more grownup version of the trendy look I’ve always loved. I am officially on board with only owning separates that combine into a fun romper or sexy jumpsuit that make me look my age. And when paired with oversized sunnies, a statement piece necklace, a metallic belt, and dark grey suede pumps, this all black ensemble makes for the perfect update for my date night look.

Tied to the Side

FullSizeRender-1315{Dress: Dear Diary, Heels: Miu Miu, Clutch: Kate Spade, Necklace: Na Hoku.}

Recently, I stepped out for brunch with some friends. Since I had spent the majority of the weekend in yoga pants and an oversized sweater {I swear it is colder at the end of March than it was on Christmas Day in SoCal}, I was excited to change into something that felt a bit more fun and creative. I opted for this marbleized maxi dress I purchased years ago in Santa Barbara, and paired it with a golden South Sea pearl pendant, bow-topped heels, and a lime green clutch. And to keep it from feeling too causal for our al fresco meal, I tied the dress on one side, making it feel a bit more fitted and just a little more fun.
