In August 2023, I mentioned taking a slight break to enjoy the end of summer. My plan was to spend anywhere from a few weeks to a few months away as I had gotten busy with other aspects of life. I never expected that “break” to go into 2025, but it did. That’s because I got pregnant with my son in August 2023 {and shortly afterwards, in December 2023, I made my lifelong dream come true and I became a kitten mom to the sweetest Siamese ever}. After my son’s birth in the spring of 2024, I considered when I would be ready to come back to this space that elevates my daily life and reminds me to live pretty everyday. But as most moms realize, life with a newborn/ infant/ toddler/ child can make you busier than you ever expected. Thus, it kind of felt fitting to come back this January, when he will have been growing in me for nine months and living outside of me for nine months. However, when the wildfires hit Los Angeles on January 7, 2025, it felt like the wrong time to focus on my new favorite cookie recipe or a DIY that I loved making recently or a trip someplace stunning. Instead, it felt better to comeback for the start of the Lunar New Year {being a fellow snake, and all}, once we had time to grieve for the city I have always wanted to call home {and someday I hope to}. But as I began planning my editorial calendar, I realized the perfect time to come back would be in the spring. I’ve always felt like the new year begins twice each year: once in the fall, and once in the spring. And with launching this site in the fall, it felt fitting to come back in the spring when my son would celebrate his first birthday.
My plan is to stick with our regular schedule of posts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while also knowing that I may need more breaks than I did two years ago when I was a Chihuahua mom, only. I appreciate the grace you will give me while I juggle motherhood alongside this pretty space, I am so excited to share so much more aspirational and inspirational content with you to help make your everyday just a smidge prettier, and I am thrilled to update you on so many exciting new endeavors. Thank you for your patience and I am so happy to see you back here! x
