A Dose of Pretty

{My new favorite {and prettiest} afternoon pick-me-up: rose petals – from our yard – on top of my shortbread cookie dough.}

And somehow, summer rolled in this week as we bid adieu to the springtime. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the seasons go by. And while I am always excited for the autumn {and all the rain, golden leaves, crisp air, and excitement for the holidays}, I am constantly reminding myself to be mindful and enjoy each moment. Nostalgia, after all, is such an interesting thing. We long for the past, never taking into consideration how someday we will long for this exact moment. This weekend I plan to head to our local observatory to learn more about the stars and planets. I hope you have a great one as well!

Editor’s Note: I’ll be taking the next six weeks off for the Fourth of July + some summer travel. I hope you have a great one, and see you back here on August 8, 2023 with brand new content! x

{A gorgeous view from a vineyard in Sebastopol.}
{The perfect picnic spot for a Father’s Day lunch in Tahoe.}
{My new favorite dessert: a pistachio tres leches cake.}
{Pretty wedding decor with two of my favorite things: fresh flowers + lit candles.}
{Afternoon sunlight peeking from above the trees.}

A Dose of Pretty

{The Pacific Palisades (aka, where Beverly Hills meets the ocean) is always a good idea.}

The past few weeks went by like a blur of busyness. From our move for the summer to our trip to New Orleans, each day felt like it rushed by faster than expected. What I loved most, though, was taking the time to truly savor the little moments, even amidst the chaos. I loved that we spent time exploring our neighborhood before the move – let’s just say that San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano are such cute towns I must go back to visit {and, um, how had I not gone there before?!}, while the Pacific Palisades fulfills my lifelong dream of finding a city where “Beverly Hills meets the ocean.”

I also enjoyed getting to explore my 33rd state {I’ve now, officially, been to 33 states and 33 countries}, where I happened to fly to a literal day after our move ended. While I was a bit exhausted {to say in the least} in NOLA – and came back to still stuffed suitcases {and, to be honest, some there is still a bit left to unpack} – I was very grateful to get to explore Louisiana and see another southern state just a few weeks after our family reunion in Charleston.

This weekend I’m thrilled to go visit beautiful Lake Tahoe with a picnic lunch, and celebrate Father’s Day with a yummy dinner + lots of board games. I hope you have a great one as well and enjoy our last few days of spring {even if it already feels like summer in California}. x

{A dramatic rose wall + pink neon lights that greet me good morning, anytime of the day.}
{The sweetest, rosiest to-go cup that elevated my tea latte by simply being so pretty.}
{My new favorite candle embraces the sweet spices found in chai (fun fact: chai is the Hindi and Sanskrit word for tea).}
{A gorgeous day in San Clemente that showcases SoCal’s May gray/ June gloom, perfectly.}
{Deep pink roses that have fully embraced the “think pink” Barbiecore trend.}
