Summer To-Do List

{The prettiest beach + waterfall in the world.}

Since today is the first official day of summer {at 7:58 am PST, to be exact}, I figured I’d share my list of things I’d like to accomplish before the leaves begin to change colors. This season always makes me nostalgic for my carefree childhood days, when I could spend my days staying cool by running through the sprinklers in our front yard {I was super cool, obviously}, eating ice cream from chocolate covered waffle cones, spend as much time as possible at the beach building sandcastles and collecting seashells, and of course taking naps in the afternoon. While summer is not quite the same anymore {even with summers off from work}, I love that I can now appreciate it at a whole new {and very different} way. Cheers to a season filled with bright nail polish, backyard barbecues, alfresco dining, fresh berries, and weekend beach trips. I’d love to know, what’s on your list?
And here are links to my past seasonal to-do lists: Fall 2022, Winter 2022, & Spring 2023
Summer To-Do List

1. Go berry picking.

2. Have a picnic at the beach.

3. Dine alfresco at least once a week.

4. Indulge in early evening walks.

5. Visit a beach I’ve never been too.

6. Go to an outdoor concert/ movie/ play.

7. Take a cooking class.

8. Make fruit/ herb infused simple syrups for virgin and boozy cocktails.

9. Take a spontaneous trip someplace new via road, air, or ocean.

10. Try making homemade chèvre cheese with flavors such as a lavender vanilla + honey, rosemary garlic, and garden chive.

When I first discovered this dress, I was surprised by how much I was drawn to it. While I’m yet to meet a color I don’t enjoy wearing, I didn’t think I’d ever be drawn to wearing something with so many bold colors and patterns. But I love how the simple, strapless black bodice complements the bright colors below. I paired it with nude pumps, a black clutch and floppy hat, oversized sunglasses, and a red lip for a day spent in wine country recently and loved how summery, yet put together it felt. And the most special aspect about this dress for me is that it reminds me of, and feels like it pays homage to, Missy {my sweetest lab who was my first daughter and also helped raise me}, thanks to the bright colors that give it such a happy and fun vibe.
